Newcastle United have reportedly joined some of Europe's biggest clubs in the race to sign Penarol forward Facundo Pellistri.
The 18-year-old began to establish himself in the Penarol first team last year and has since been tipped as one of the brightest young players in South American football.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly already made contact with the Uruguayan outfit over a possible deal for the winger, while Manchester City and Real Madrid are also understood to be interested.
The Daily Mail reports that Newcastle have now joined the chase after receiving glowing scouting reports, although they would only make their move once their proposed takeover is completed.
Pellistri is thought to have a release clause of €15m (£13.4m) in his contract, which runs until 2022.
