Half-Time Report: Manchester United, Newcastle United remain goalless at half time

The Premier League match between Manchester United and Newcastle United remains goalless at half time.

Newcastle United are holding Manchester United at half time, despite a dominant performance from the Red Devils.

Manchester United started brightly and Wayne Rooney had the ball in the back of the net in the opening three minutes, but he was flagged for offside by the assistant referee.

Two minutes later, United breached the Newcastle defence once again, but this time Rooney's shot was straight at Tim Krul.

The early United onslaught continued, and next up was Juan Mata whose shot was too tame to trouble Krul.

Mata had their next chance and directed the ball towards the near post. Once again, Krul was equal to it to keep the scores level.

Memphis Depay was also causing problems for the Newcastle defence, and he went past Chancel Mbemba before hitting a shot at Krul.

Against the run of play, Aleksandar Mitrovic nearly gave Newcastle the lead when he hit the crossbar from a Mbemba cross.

Newcastle then came close again on the verge of half time when Jose Perez shot narrowly wide of the right post.
