Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick has said that Edinson Cavani should be available for Sunday's Manchester derby with Manchester City.
The Uruguay international has not played for the Red Devils since February 8 due to a groin problem, missing each of the team's last four Premier League matches.
However, Rangnick has revealed that the 35-year-old returned to training on Thursday and is set to be available for selection against the reigning Premier League champions.
"He is back in training since yesterday, today was his second training session with the team," Rangnick told reporters. "He looks good to be involved on Sunday, but there are still some question marks over other players. It looks good for Edinson for Sunday."
Cavani has been restricted to just 15 appearances for the 20-time English champions this season due to a number of injury problems, managing just two goals and one assist.
The experienced striker's contract at Old Trafford is due to expire at the end of June, meanwhile, and he is said to be determined to secure a move to a La Liga club.
