Jack Wilshere reminds Manchester United and Manchester City of Arsenal's successful qualification record into the final 16 of the Champions League.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has teased Manchester United and Manchester City over their early exits from the Champions League with tongue-in-cheek comments.

The North West rivals have dropped into the Europa League after failing to progress to the final 16 of the coveted tournament.

"It's disappointing for English football but London teams are showing the Northern teams the way," the Daily Star quotes Wilshere as saying.

"For me, United is the biggest disappoint because they are the biggest club in Manchester. City have spent the money trying to compete with them and it's not worked this year. Talking about teams going out of Europe, I can't remember the last time we didn't qualify out of the group."

The Gunners along with Chelsea are the only English sides remaining in the Champions League.
