Manchester United fans 'continue to support David Moyes'

Andy Mitten of Manchester United fanzine 'United we Stand' insists that the majority of supporters are fully behind manager David Moyes.

Manchester United supporters will continue to back manager David Moyes, despite the team's dip in form, according to the creator of the club fanzine 'United we Stand' Andy Mitten.

The Scotsman, who was appointed as Sir Alex Ferguson's replacement in the summer, has come under criticism following the club's fall in the Premier League table to seventh.

The North-West outfit, who are currently 11 points adrift of leaders Arsenal, were also booted out of the FA Cup at the weekend when they succumbed to a late 2-1 defeat at the hands of Swansea City in the third round.

Despite the growing pressure on Moyes, Mitten has insisted that the majority of United supporters are in the ex-Everton manager's corner.

"The fans have been very supportive of David Moyes," he told BBC Radio Five Live.

"I think that will continue. I think 5,000 United fans will go up to Sunderland tomorrow night and sing the manager's name, not just the players' names.

"They've been hugely supportive, they want him to succeed. I think they appreciate he's got a tough job, maybe not as tough as he's finding it."

United will take on Sunderland this week as they fight for a place in the Capital One Cup final.
