Scott McTominay delighted to open Manchester United account

Scott McTominay says that it was "the best feeling in the world" to score his first senior Manchester United goal against Norwegian outfit Valerenga Fotball.

Scott McTominay has said that it was "the best feeling in the world" to score his first senior Manchester United goal in their 3-0 win over Norwegian outfit Valerenga Fotball in Oslo on Sunday night.

McTominay, who broke into the Man United first team in the latter stages of last season, came off the bench to score his team's third of the night during the pre-season fixture.

The 20-year-old has revealed that it was 'the best moment of his life' to open his goalscoring account, and the midfielder has vowed to continue working hard in a bid to work his way into Jose Mourinho's plans on a regular basis.

"Coming over with the first team for a start and just playing games with them in pre-season and then obviously to get my first senior goal - it's the best feeling in the world," McTominay told MUTV.

"It's the best moment of my life so you just want more and more of this. This is what you work for every single day in training, dedicating yourself. I'm just going to enjoy it now and push forward to do my best.

"The ball just broke and there was a little bounce and I've just whipped it in the far corner. It was brilliant; like I say, it was the best feeling. Valerenga were a really good team. It was a tough first half. In the first 20 minutes they were tough to break down and kept the ball, but eventually our quality showed and we got the goals and it was a pleasing night."

Man United's final pre-season fixture will be against Italian side Sampdoria in Dublin on Wednesday night.
