Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho refuses to comment on referee Andre Marriner's decision not to award Antonio Valencia a penalty during the draw with Arsenal.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has refused to comment on referee Andre Marriner's decision not to award his side a penalty during their 1-1 draw with Arsenal this afternoon.

The hosts thought they should have had a spot kick when Antonio Valencia burst into the box before going down under a clumsy-looking challenge by Nacho Monreal, but Marriner waved the claims away.

Mourinho was visibly upset by the decision on the touchline, but he is confident that Marriner made an honest call as opposed to intentionally trying to do United a disservice.

"I don't want to speak about it. I have a very good feeling with Andre Marriner. He is the kind of referee who, if he makes mistakes against my team, there is no intention," Mourinho told United's official website.

"He doesn't want to be the star of the game, he is a good referee. I don't want to say if it is a mistake or not; I know because I saw the video, but I don't want to say because he is a good referee."

United have now won just two of their last nine Premier League outings.
