Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho takes a thinly-veiled dig at Arsene Wenger and Jurgen Klopp as he claims that the 'rules are different' for him.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has accused the powers that be of treating him differently to other managers following a frustrating stalemate with Hull City at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils failed to gain ground on the top four as they were held to a goalless draw by relegation battlers Hull on Wednesday night.

After the final whistle, Mourinho stormed out of an interview with BBC Sport after being asked what he felt referee Mike Jones should have spotted with regards to Hull's behaviour, in reference to the team's time wasting in the closing stages of the match.

Before walking away, the Portuguese coach said: "If you don't know football, you shouldn't be with a microphone in your hand."

In his post-match press conference, Mourinho continued his tirade about the treatment he receives from referees compared to other managers. He told reporters: "You know clearly that I am different. The rules for me are different. I am different in everything."

Without naming him directly, Mourinho had a dig at Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who is currently serving a four-match touchline ban for shoving fourth official Anthony Taylor.

The United boss suggested that his rival got off lightly by referring to his own previous stadium ban issued by the FA. He said: "I [had to] watch my team play in a hotel, I was forbidden to go to the stadium, my assistant had a six-match stadium ban and he didn't touch anyone."

Mourinho also took a swipe at Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, who escaped punishment, despite screaming at fourth official Neil Swarbrick during his side's 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Anfield on Tuesday night.

The German coach revealed after the game that he apologised after shouting, "No-one can beat us," to which Swarbrick allegedly replied by saying that he liked Klopp's passion.

Mourinho used this example when explaining that he was warned about being sent to the stands if he aired his frustration on the touchline during United's game against Hull.

"On Tuesday, one fourth official told a manager: 'I enjoy very much your passion, so do what you want to do'. Today I was told, 'Sit down or I have to send you to the stands. So everything is different for me. Don't ask me questions that put me in a difficult situation," he said.

United stay sixth in the Premier League table, four points adrift of Liverpool, who occupy the final Champions League spot.
