Nuno plays down Nicolas Otamendi boos

Valencia boss Nuno believes that Los Che's supporters want Nicolas Otamendi to remain at the Mestalla, despite boos for the Argentine during a friendly on Saturday.

Valencia boss Nuno has insisted that Nicolas Otamendi remains focused on the season ahead despite receiving boos from a section of the club's supporters at the weekend.

The Argentine centre-back has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United this summer and is reportedly desperate to leave Valencia before the start of the season.

On Saturday, a section of Los Che's supporters booed the defender during Valencia's 3-1 defeat against Roma, but Nuno has played down the reaction.

"He's the same as always, he's super-competitive and one of the best centre-backs around," he told Superdeporte.

"If you were to ask fans, they would say they wanted Ota to stay. The team are built on the fans' support."

Real Madrid and Manchester City have also been credited with an interest.
