Ex-Manchester United star Paul Scholes wants coaching return

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes reveals that he wants to return to coaching in the future.

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has revealed that he is open to taking on a coaching role in the future as he 'misses' being involved in football.

The 40-year-old spent his entire career at Old Trafford before retiring permanently in 2013.

During the 2011-12 and 2013-14 seasons, Scholes had brief coaching spells at the Premier League club, and since becoming a joint-owner of Salford City alongside Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt and Phil and Gary Neville, the ex-midfielder has offered coaching advice to the players.

"I love football," Scholes told PA. "I've not been involved now properly for two years and coaching is a way into it. I miss being involved day-to-day with players and being in a dressing room.

"If something comes up in the future that I fancy, then great. If it doesn't, then it doesn't, but it is definitely something I enjoy."

Back in March, Scholes rejected an offer to become Oldham manager.
