Ryan Giggs has admitted that it has been a "massive learning experience" working under Louis van Gaal for Manchester United.
Van Gaal elected to keep Giggs on the coaching staff when he arrived at Old Trafford last summer, and the Welshman, who briefly took charge of United prior to the manager's appointment, claims that it has been enjoyable to work with the veteran coach.
"I have learned loads from him," the 41-year-old, who made 963 appearances for the club, told reporters. "Just seeing him first hand has been a massive learning experience for me.
"The manager has given me that platform to go out and coach every day, and I am enjoying it thoroughly. He didn't know me before I met him, but we instantly hit it off and he has given me massive responsibility from the start. I have worked hard in coaching just as I did as a player. He recognises that."
United begin the new season by hosting Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Saturday.
