Wayne Rooney ranks his headed effort against Manchester City in the FA Cup as his best goal so far this season.

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney believes that his headed effort during January's FA Cup tie against Manchester City is his best goal this so far this season.

The England international rose highest to convert a cross from teammate Antonio Valencia and put his side one goal in front.

"I'd probably say my header against City in the Cup [is my best goal this season]." Rooney told United Review.

"It was a great cross from Antonio and, although I could see Nani coming towards the ball at the same time, my sole focus was on winning the header and thankfully it went in."

United went on to win the tie at the Etihad Stadium 3-2.
