Robin van Persie insists that Manchester United will go on to win more trophies next year because it is in the make-up of the club.

Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has insisted that the club should be targeting more trophies next season.

The Dutchman scored as United drew 5-5 with West Bromwich Albion today in Sir Alex Ferguson's last game as manager.

The 29-year-old also hailed his teammates as he picked up the golden boot for being this season's top goalscorer.

"This is a great bunch of players," Van Persie told MUTV.

"Everybody wants to work for each other and share the success and I'm 100% sure that we will play for trophies every year, and hopefully win a few every year. That's our standard for this team.

"The Premier League means everything and the golden boot is like a little bit extra but, as I explained last week, I think they should make 25 of them because we [the players] do it together."

Van Persie finished the season with 26 Premier League goals.
