Michael Carrick will be the last captain of Manchester United under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson.

In the absence of Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra, Rio Ferdinand and Ryan Giggs, Michael Carrick has been handed the captain's armband for Sir Alex Ferguson's last match in charge of Manchester United at West Bromwich Albion this afternoon.

He has been included in the midfield alongside Anderson and Tom Cleverley, while Javier Hernandez will partner leading goalscorer Robin van Persie in attack.

The hosting Baggies will begin the Premier League contest with Shane Long playing as a lone striker and Chris Brunt and James Morrison offering the support from advanced midfield roles.
