Man Utd have bounced back from their shock Champions League exit with a 4-1 demolition of Wolves at Old Trafford.
The visitors barely had a look-in during the first half as United dominated from the off. Nani was the first to break the deadlock on 16 minutes, with it ending his two-and-a-half month goal drought in the league.
Wayne Rooney doubled the advantage ten minutes later after Nani set him up for a routine knock into the bottom left of the net.
Mick McCarthy's side emerged the brighter after the restart and were instantly rewarded when the club's leading scorer Steven Fletcher headed in from inside the six-yard box.
The momentum was to be short-lived, however, as United regained their dominance soon after and Nani found his brace.
Rooney put the game in the bag just after the hour mark, claiming his own brace with a close-range shot.
Wolves held their nerve and did well to keep the deficit at three as the two sides played out the remaining half hour.
With the win, United close the gap on league leaders Man City to two points ahead of their meeting with Chelsea at the Etihad on Monday night.
