Liverpool join Manchester United in the race to sign Sporting Lisbon attacker Bruno Fernandes, according to a report.

Liverpool have reportedly joined Manchester United in the race to sign Sporting Lisbon attacker Bruno Fernandes in this summer's transfer window.

The 24-year-old who is currently with the Portugal squad preparing for Sunday's UEFA Nations League final against Switzerland, has been strongly linked with a move to United this summer.

However, according to Record, Liverpool are now in the race for Fernandes, whose agent Miguel Pinho will fly to London next week for talks with a number of clubs.

The versatile attacker scored 32 times and contributed 18 assists in 53 appearances for Sporting during the 2018-19 season.

Fernandes has a contract at the Estadio Jose Alvalade until the summer of 2022, however, which places his club in a strong position when it comes to negotiation.

The player is believed to have an £86m release clause in his current deal with the Green and Whites.
