Next Manchester United boss 'to be given £200m'

The next permanent manager of Manchester United will reportedly be provided with a budget of £200m to spend on new players.

Manchester United have reportedly decided to hand a transfer budget of £200m to the club's next permanent manager.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointed as caretaker boss for the rest of the campaign after Jose Mourinho was removed from his position in December, but the Norwegian did not add to the first-team squad during the January transfer window.

However, according to The Sun, club officials have already made the decision to give the next full-time boss the opportunity to make wholesale changes to the team ahead of next season.

United have been strongly linked with bringing in a new centre-back and forward, while a fresh face may need to be found at right-back with Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian likely to leave Old Trafford.

Solskjaer is currently regarded as the favourite to be provided with a permanent stay in the dugout, having recorded nine wins and a draw from 10 matches.
