Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson is stepping up his bid to reshape his front line after another game without a goal.
The 1-0 home defeat by Kilmarnock meant Motherwell have now failed to score in five of their last seven matches. They have scored three in that spell with Danny Johnson getting two of them.
Striker Ryan Bowman could be on his way out after being left out on Boxing Day amid interest from the English lower leagues while Curtis Main came in for criticism from his manager following his red card.
Centre-forward Conor Sammon has not scored a Ladbrokes Premiership goal since joining on a season-long loan from Hearts while winger Elliott Frear made a rare start against Killie but passed up Motherwell's best chance.
Robinson feels his side is looking fairly solid at the back but vowed to wheel and deal to improve their goal threat.
"That bit of quality at the top end of the pitch costs money," he told the club's YouTube channel.
"We have to put our eggs into that basket up front and invest in that forward player.
"I think I need a couple of wide players and another centre-forward."
