Netherlands manager Bert Van Marwijk is quietly confident of his team lifting the Henri Delaunay trophy for the second time at Euro 2012.

Netherlands manager Bert Van Marwijk has said that his team are heading in the right direction following their 6-0 demolition of Northern Ireland.

The Oranje begin their Euro 2012 campaign against Denmark next Saturday and will be looking to improve on their runners-up medals at the 2010 World Cup.

Van Marwijk remained reserved while discussing his side's chances of glory in Eastern Europe but declared himself happy with preparations.

"We are improving, that's the most important thing," said Van Marwijk. "I don't know if we are ready [to win it] but we are getting better.

"I have been very happy with the team in the last three weeks and I think preparations have been very good."

Netherlands won the European Championships in West Germany in 1988.
