Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye has revealed that he has started running again, less than three weeks after undergoing groin surgery.
Cabaye picked up the muscle problem in November's home defeat to West Ham United and went under the knife soon after.
The French international insisted that he would not try to rush his comeback and expects to return for selection in early February.
He told RMC Sport: "I had an operation two-and-a-half weeks ago and I've started running again and going for jogs this week.
"The most important is I have no pain and can start running. I know I must not come back too quickly. I'm on schedule for the start of February."
The 26-year-old has made a successful transition to the Premier League since signing from Lille in 2011.
