Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye has targeted a February return from injury after revealing that his groin operation was a success.
The Frenchman went under the knife earlier this week after picking up the muscle problem in the home defeat to West Ham United.
Cabaye told L'Equipe: "Surgery went off smoothly. It was done in two steps as the surgeon told me - on Monday right side and Tuesday left side.
"Being back to competition early in February? That is the objective."
The 26-year-old joined Newcastle from native side Lille in 2011.
