Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse believes that the club can finish inside the top 10 in the Premier League this season.

Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse has insisted that the club can achieve a top-10 finish in the Premier League this season.

Despite a disappointing start to the campaign, the Magpies have moved up to 13th place in recent weeks.

"We have enough games left now that can take us to a top-10 position," Cisse told the Evening Chronicle.

"That is important for us. We need to start looking to next season already. That would give us a solid foundation to build from.

"I know that's the objective of the gaffer. We look at our remaining games and we feel we can get the wins we need to do it."

Newcastle return to Premier League action on Saturday when they travel to champions Manchester City.
