Newcastle keeper Tim Krul is looking forward to facing his old mentor Shay Given this weekend.

Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul has said that his side are looking forward to facing their old teammate Shay Given at the weekend.

Given left St James's Park for Manchester City in 2009 after 12 years at the club, but he now returns between the sticks for Aston Villa.

"It'll be nice to see Shay Given again," said Krul. "When I came to Newcastle in 2005, Shay was more like a teacher to me.

"I learned so much from him, and now I'll look to put it into practice again. To be playing against him will be another challenge. At the moment, we're all feeling the same - we can't wait for the next game."

Newcastle currently sit fourth in the Premier League, while Villa occupy eighth place.
