Report: Fabricio Coloccini to retain Newcastle United captaincy

Newcastle United defender Fabricio Coloccini will reportedly remain captain despite claims that he rowed with goalkeeper Tim Krul following their loss to Leicester City.

Fabricio Coloccini has reportedly been told that he will retain the Newcastle United captaincy for their next match despite an apparent fall-out with goalkeeper Tim Krul at the weekend.

The Telegraph reported that the defender was involved in a confrontation with the Dutch shot-stopper following the 3-0 defeat at Leicester City on Saturday.

However, the publication now claims that Coloccini will keep hold of the captain's armband for the match against West Bromwich Albion after holding clear-the-air talks with Krul and manager John Carver earlier today.

Daryl Janmaat and Mike Williamson will both miss the match against the Baggies after being sent off at the King Power Stadium.
