Agent: 'Steven Taylor could leave Newcastle United in January'

Steven Taylor's agent claims that his client could be forced to leave Newcastle United on loan in January in search of first-team opportunities.

The agent of Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor has revealed that his client could be sent out on loan in search for first-team opportunities.

The 27-year-old has been omitted from Alan Pardew's previous six matchday squads despite being fit for selection.

The Magpies have won five of their last seven Premier League encounters - including a 1-0 victory away to Manchester United - and the player's agent, Willie McKay, says that Joe Kinnear may facilitate a temporary move away from the club for his client.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, McKay said: "He has not been involved for the last six games and of course it is frustrating.

"Steven fully understands that the team have been on a good winning run and the manager does not want to change a winning team.

"Joe Kinnear has promised Steven a new deal in January and he could be made available for loan if he is not going to be playing for Newcastle."

Pardew's men were held to a 1-1 draw with Southampton at St James's Park on Saturday.
