Preview: Rotherham United vs. Nottingham Forest

Sports Mole looks ahead to Saturday's Championship meeting between Rotherham United and Nottingham Forest.

A run of eight games without a victory is exactly what Rotherham United didn't need ahead of a hectic Christmas schedule.

On Saturday, Steve Evans could see his side slip into the relegation zone if they suffer defeat the hands of Nottingham Forest, a scenario which many feel the club could find difficult to come back from.

Despite struggling to turn battling displays into wins, Rotherham should take confidence from an admirable performance in a goalless draw with Cardiff City last weekend.

It was a stubborn defensive effort which helped Rotherham to the point in Wales, but it's the attacking play which will need to be improved after scoring just once in six games.

Forest's aims may be very different this season, but the frustration has been evident on more than one occasions for Stuart Pearce and his players as they look to gain momentum in their push for promotion.

Pearce's side head into this weekend's match in 10th place, just three points outside the playoff spots, and the visitors will be desperate to start a winning run so close to Christmas.

Britt Assombalonga is available for Forest once again after serving his suspension, and he could be joined in the side by Robert Tesche, who has impressed off the bench in recent weeks.
