Midfielder Marco Verratti has acknowledged that he does not want to see Neymar leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
The Brazilian has expressed a desire to return to Barcelona, despite being just two years into a five-year contract at Parc des Princes.
During the club's first Ligue 1 fixture of the season on Sunday, a section of PSG fans displayed negative banners in relation to the forward.
However, Verratti has indicated that he wants the most expensive player in the world to continue to ply his trade in France's capital.
The Italian told L'Equipe: "We are very close to Ney. He is a player who gave a lot to Paris. Last year, he scored in important moments. As soon as he played, we only talked about him because he is an incredible player who excites everyone.
"I think for him it's good if things are clear, if he stays or if he leaves. These are things he will manage with the club, but I want him to stay."
Manager Thomas Tuchel has also said that he wants Neymar to spend at least one more season in Paris.
