Matt Phillips: 'Queens Park Rangers can beat the drop'

Queens Park Rangers winger Matt Phillips believes that his side can beat the drop from the Premier League if they maintain the recent level of their performances.

Queens Park Rangers winger Matt Phillips is confident that his side can haul themselves to safety in the Premier League this season.

The R's are currently in the bottom three, three points adrift of safety after 28 matches this season, but Phillips feels that his side's recent performances have given them hope they can beat the drop.

"It's all very tight at the bottom," Phillips told the club's official website. "There are five or six teams who could get pulled into it, and at the moment we are one of those teams. But if we keep doing the right things we can get out of it.

"Recent performances have shown how capable we are. Given where we are in the league, and with Palace being at home and where they are, I'm not saying it will be a cagey game but I think it will be tight."

QPR face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in their Premier League clash later today.
