Preview: Reading vs. Wigan Athletic

Match preview of Saturday's clash between Reading and Wigan Athletic at Madejski Stadium.

Two sides relegated from the Premier League last season clash at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday as Reading and Wigan Athletic continue their respective bids to bounce straight back up.

The hosts, currently in a playoff spot, are better placed than their opponents to do so and with three wins from their last four they will be targeting another victory here.

Wigan have had a Europa League campaign to contend with but managed to respond to elimination from the competition with the ending of a four-game losing streak in their last Championship game against Bolton Wanderers.

Reading boss Nigel Adkins has vowed to utilise his squad over the festive period, but will not want to make too many changes from the side that beat Huddersfield Town in their last game.

Wigan could name the same lineup from their last game against Sheffield Wednesday, which was postponed with the Latics leading 1-0.
