Guillem Balague: 'Raphael Varane will stay at Real Madrid'

Raphael Varane will not be allowed to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season, according to respected journalist Guillem Balague.

Respected Spanish journalist Guillem Balague has claimed that Raphael Varane will not be leaving Real Madrid at the end of the season.

The French international turned down Manchester United to join Real Madrid from Lens in 2011 and has already made 148 appearances for the Spanish giants in all competitions.

The 23-year-old has had to play second fiddle to Pepe and Sergio Ramos in recent months, however, and it has been reported that both Arsenal and Man United are considering summer moves.

Despite the speculation, Balague has insisted that the centre-back will not be leaving the Bernabeu.

"No. Varane is to stay at Real Madrid," Balague tweeted when asked if Varane could be sold.

Varane has made 31 appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid this season.
