Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane could welcome Raphael Varane back to the fold for his side's La Liga clash with Cadiz on Wednesday evening.
The World Cup-winning Frenchman has now returned a negative coronavirus test and joined up with his teammates for training on Monday morning, so he is in line to replace Victor Chust at the back.
Zidane's defensive options are also boosted by the return of Nacho Fernandez from suspension, so Alvaro Odriozola's spot at right-back is at risk, but two more players on that side in Lucas Vazquez and Dani Carvajal are both nursing injuries.
The veteran Marcelo should feature at left-back if Ferland Mendy fails to shake off a calf issue in time, while Casemiro's return from suspension should see Isco drop out of the engine room.
Toni Kroos was given a complete rest against Getafe but is expected to reprise his regular role in midfield here, so Zidane could sacrifice Rodrygo after he struggled to produce the goods at the weekend.
However, Federico Valverde is in self-isolation after coming into close contact with a COVID-positive individual, while Eden Hazard was not spotted at Monday's training session, despite Zidane affirming that he was "ready" to return to action.
Mariano Diaz lasted 65 minutes up top against Getafe before being hauled off for Karim Benzema, who will hope to take his tally to 20 La Liga goals for the season in midweek.
Real Madrid possible starting lineup:
Courtois; Nacho, Militao, Varane, Marcelo; Casemiro, Kroos, Modric; Asensio, Benzema, Vinicius Jr
