Raul calls Real Madrid his "home" amid suggestions that the Spaniard could replace Zinedine Zidane as head coach.

Raul has called Real Madrid his "home" amid suggestions that the Spaniard could replace Zinedine Zidane as head coach of Los Blancos at the end of the season.

Zidane will allegedly stand down from his managerial role this summer, with the Frenchman thought to have become disillusioned with life at the club.

A recent report claimed that Raul, who is currently in charge of Real Madrid Castilla, was the favourite to become the capital club's next head coach.

The Spaniard has not directly discussed the first-team role at the Bernabeu but has insisted that he wants to "continue" at Real Madrid.

"This is my home and this is where I want to be. This is not the time to talk about anyone's future," he told Marca. "We've learned a lot this year. I'm an employee of the club.

"Since I decided to become a coach three or four years ago it's best to do it at home, at my club, gaining experience and coaching in the best way. I'm a club man, I'm happy at home and I'm excited to continue."

The 43-year-old made 741 appearances for the capital giants between 1994 and 2010, scoring 323 goals, making him the club's second-highest goalscorer of all time behind Cristiano Ronaldo.
