Manager Thomas Tuchel says that he expects Edinson Cavani to remain at Paris Saint-Germain, despite alleged interest from Real Madrid.

Manager Thomas Tuchel has said that he expects Edinson Cavani to spend next season at Paris Saint-Germain.

A report has suggested that Cavani would be open to making the switch to Real Madrid, who are looking for a high-profile signing after the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus.

However, Tuchel - who has replaced Unai Emery in the PSG dugout - has suggested that he does not expect the Uruguayan to push for a move to the Bernabeu.

At a press conference, the 44-year-old told reporters: "I think Cavani will stay at PSG, nobody has told me anything and I think that he will remain.

"I spoke with him and the player didn't announce any interest in leaving the team."

The 31-year-old has scored a total of 167 goals in 225 appearances for PSG in all competitions.
