Real Valladolid fight back to hold Elche

Real Valladolid recover from a two-goal deficit to earn a 2-2 draw with Elche at the Nuevo Jose Zorilla stadium this evening.

Real Valladolid have recovered from a two-goal deficit to earn a 2-2 draw with Elche at the Nuevo Jose Zorilla stadium in La Liga.

The Alicante-based outfit boasted a 1-0 half-time lead over the hosts, with Coro firing his team ahead on 34 minutes after latching onto a loose ball inside the box.

Manucho thought that he had leveled up the clash shortly after the restart, only to see the offside flag raised after finding the back of the net.

Fran Escriba's men took a giant step toward victory by doubling their advantage midway through the half, as Manu del Moral was the beneficiary of a goalmouth scramble and tapped home from close range.

Humberto Osorio threw his team a lifeline by curling into the top corner to reduce the arrears, before the 25-year-old replicated his heroics eight minutes later to restore parity, heading past Tono from close range.

It proved enough for the hosts to earn a valuable point in their quest to remain in the Primera Division.
