New York Red Bulls have confirmed that Jesse Marsch will coach the team for the 2015 season.
The 41-year-old has replaced Mike Petke, who was sacked by the MLS outfit on Wednesday.
Marsch was assistant coach for the USA national team before taking charge of Montreal Impact for a one-season spell in 2012.
"On behalf of the New York Red Bulls, I'd like to welcome Jesse aboard as our new head coach," sporting director Ali Curtis told the club's official website.
"We're excited to bring someone on who has both MLS and US men's national team coaching experience and we strongly believe he is the right candidate to lead our team going forward."
Marsch played for DC United, Chicago Fire and Chivas USA before retiring in 2009.
