Seamus Coleman has expressed his disappointment after the Republic of Ireland failed to book an automatic spot at Euro 2016.
The Irish suffered a 2-1 defeat to Poland in Warsaw this evening that has seen them finish third in Group D, meaning that they will need to come through a two-legged playoff in order to reach next year's tournament.
"We are all disappointed after doing brilliantly against Germany," BBC Sport quotes him as saying. "We let ourselves down. We had the confidence and expected to win.
"We have a big month now in November and we have to get going again. For periods of the group we would have snatched your hand off for a play-off place."
Ireland qualified for Euro 2012 by beating Estonia 5-1 on aggregate in the playoffs.
