Gordon Strachan: 'Germany defeat not an option'

Scotland boss Gordon Strachan admits that defeat against Germany is not an option as they look to reinvigorate their Euro 2016 qualification hopes.

Gordon Strachan has conceded that Scotland need to pull something special out of the bag against Germany on Monday after their Euro 2016 hopes took a hit on Friday night.

Strachan's men slumped to a 1-0 defeat in Georgia, with the Republic of Ireland then thrashing Gibraltar 4-0 to leapfrog them into third in Group D by a point.

Next up for the Scots is a visit of the world champions to Hampden Park and, with three qualifiers left, the 58-year-old admits that defeat is not an option.

"I would think we have to pick up something," he told Sky Sports News.

"We are still there, so we'll get over the disappointment and we've got to bring that into a good performance."

After Germany, Scotland's last two games are home to Poland on October 8 and away to Gibraltar three days later.
