Southampton manager Nigel Adkins has told his players that they must win as many points as they can at home if they are to avoid relegation.
The Saints have picked up nine points at St Mary's this season, while their away form has yielded just three.
"We've been outstanding at St Mary's and played some really good football, dominating games," Adkins told the Southern Daily Echo.
"That's where we've got to make sure we strive to pick up the three points in every game.
"The next game is a derby game against Reading. It will be a full house, a great atmosphere and a game that the players will be looking forward to."
Southampton, who are currently in 18th place in the Premier League table, host fellow strugglers Reading on Saturday.
