Southampton manager Nigel Adkins was keen to look at the positives after his side once again failed to win, despite taking the lead against Fulham.
Southampton looked to be heading for defeat after Kieran Richardson's late second, however they salvaged a point through Jose Fonte's second header, leaving Adkins pleased at getting something from the game.
"The first half was OK but the second half was more open and we gave away two bad goals," Adkins said. "However, you have to look at the positives, which were that we got a point and we came from behind to do that.
"We had some really good chances, particularly in the first half, we could have scored more goals. We actually scored three today but we have to work on keeping them out of our net.
"We can't afford to score two goals and not come away with maximum points. But we have a point though and we move forward."
The point moved Southampton out of the relegation zone into 17th.
