Ronald Koeman eyeing up Chelsea scalp

Ronald Koeman says that his Southampton side can pile further misery on Chelsea by beating them at Stamford Bridge.

Ronald Koeman has claimed that Southampton can inflict further misery on stuttering Chelsea by beating the Premier League champions at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Blues have won eight points from a possible 21 in what has proven a stop-start defence of their title, with a 2-1 Champions League defeat at Porto representing another setback.

Koeman oversaw two draws against Jose Mourinho's side last term, and the Dutchman feels that it is an ideal time for his troops - who sit one point ahead of them - to go one better this time around.

"Maybe they have lost a bit of that winning mentality," he told a pre-match press conference. "[And] they are making more changes [in defence] than last year.

"We know we can have a good result if we play at our level because we had two draws against them last year, that belief we had last year we have to show again."

The Saints sit five places above Chelsea in 15th.
