Southampton forward Shane Long not worried about defeat to Stoke City

Shane Long says that Southampton's defeat to Stoke City should be put into perspective as the club remain eighth in the Premier League.

Shane Long has put Southampton's defeat to Stoke City in perspective by claiming that overall the club are having a good season.

The South Coast club's unbeaten Premier League run came to an end after six games when Bojan Krkic's 10th-minute goal was enough to down the Saints on Saturday.

"There's going to be good weeks, there's going to be bad weeks and, if you look at the season as a whole, we're doing well," the Daily Echo quotes Long as saying.

"People always look at your last result and it's frustrating. It's just disappointing. You win some, you lose some."

Southampton are currently eighth in the league table, six points off a Champions League spot.
