Isco says that it is very difficult to get a game for Spain as there are some of the best players in the world playing in his position.

Malaga player Isco has said that his playing position as attacking midfielder makes playing for his country "tough" as some of the best players in the world are ahead of him in the pecking order.

Isco has been called up for Wednesday night's friendly against Uruguay and has said that he hopes to do well enough to break into the team on a regular basis.

"The truth is my position makes it tough," AS quotes Isco as saying. "The best of the world play for Spain, but little by little, if I keep doing things right, maybe I'll get a chance to break in.

"We're here to try, and to do the best we can and to help the team. I'm delighted to be here, and to have a chance to make my debut."

Isco has been named in the Spain squad previously but has yet to make an appearance.
