Tottenham Hotspur hit Emmnauel Adebayor with £160k fine?

Tottenham Hotspur will fine Emmanuel Adebayor two weeks wages worth £160k for his late return from Africa Cup of Nations duty, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly fine Emmanuel Adebayor two weeks wages for his late return from the Africa Cup of Nations.

Adebayor finished his involvement in the tournament for Togo last Sunday but did not arrive back in England until Friday evening.

Spurs eventually sent a private jet to collect Adebayor so that he could make the squad to face Newcastle United on Saturday.

The 28-year-old came on as a substitute during the 2-1 win at White Hart Lane but Spurs will still discipline the forward by fining him £160k, according to The Sun.

Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas insisted after the Newcastle match that the striker had permission to return late from South Africa.
