Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas praises Basel's performance following Thursday's 2-2 draw in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has heaped praise on Basel following Thursday's 2-2 draw in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie.

The Swiss side held a 2-0 lead at White Hart Lane before a Spurs fightback saw the teams end the match all square.

"This Basel team was probably the best team I have ever seen at White Hart Lane," Villas-Boas told Sky Sports News. "All the recognition goes to a top opponent who we had to play here tonight."

Tottenham travel to Switzerland for the return leg on April 11.
