Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester City will be looking to record their 17th Premier League victory of the season when they travel to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon.

City have picked up 51 points from their 24 league matches this season to sit second, some 19 points off leaders Liverpool, who have incredibly won all but one of their league games this term.

Pep Guardiola's side will enter this clash off the back of a 1-0 defeat to Manchester United in the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final on Wednesday night, although they still progressed to the final with a 3-2 aggregate win.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the Premier League clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Leroy Sane has been on the sidelines since injuring knee ligaments against Liverpool in the Community Shield back in August. The Germany international has recently returned to first-team training, though, and could be available for selection at some point next month.

Benjamin Mendy

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Fatigue
Possible return date: February 2 (vs. Tottenham)

Benjamin Mendy has missed City's last three matches with Guardiola revealing that the left-back is struggling with "muscular fatigue". The defender could recover in time for this game, though.

Aymeric Laporte

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Fatigue
Possible return date: February 2 (vs. Tottenham)

Aymeric Laporte recently made his recovery from a long-term knee issue, but the centre-back has not been involved in City's last two matches with Fulham and United. It is currently unclear whether the Frenchman will pass a late fitness test to feature at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Fernandinho

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: February 2 (vs. Tottenham)

Fernandinho has not featured for City since the 1-0 win over Sheffield United on January 21, missing out against Fulham and United. The Brazilian is only believed to be suffering from a knock, though, and could be cleared to face Jose Mourinho's side on Sunday afternoon.

City have no suspension concerns ahead of the Premier League fixture.
