Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino will reportedly be offered a lucrative new contract by the club amid rumoured interest from Real Madrid.

The 45-year-old has more than three years remaining on his current deal, which was signed in 2016 and is worth around £5.5m a year in wages.

According to The Telegraph, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is keen to both reward Pochettino for his work at the club and tie him down for a longer period under a new contract, which will be proposed in the coming months.

The Argentine is said to be a top managerial target for Madrid this summer as they contemplate sacking Zinedine Zidane following a terrible campaign that has seen Los Blancos fall 17 points behind Barcelona in the La Liga title race.

Since he joined Spurs in 2014, Pochettino has guided the club to successive finishes of fifth, third and second in the top flight - including setting a new club-record points total in the Premier League.

This season Spurs are through to the knockout stages of the Champions League and were praised this week for coming from two goals down to salvage a draw against Serie A champions Juventus in Turin.
