Report: Tottenham Hotspur ponder Fabio Capello

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering Russia manager Fabio Capello as a potential replacement for Andre Villas-Boas.

Reports have suggested that Fabio Capello is one of the managers Tottenham Hotspur will approach should Andre Villas-Boas fail to turn things around at White Hart Lane.

The North London side have taken seven points from the last 18 available, which has seen them slip from a top-four position down to ninth in the Premier League.

Manchester City also inflicted a 6-0 humiliation last week - a performance which the Portuguese coach described as shameful.

According to the Daily Mail, Capello, who has lead Russia to next year's World Cup in Brazil, has been mentioned in initial talks about a possible replacement.

However, the Russian Football Union hope that the Italian will sign a new four-year contract imminently.

The 67-year-old, who has close ties with Spurs sporting director Franco Baldini, took up his current post just over five months after leaving the England job.
