Spurs swap Jan Vertonghen and William Gallas for Steven Caulker and Michael Dawson for this afternoon's match against Sunderland.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has decided to rotate at the back for this afternoon's trip to Sunderland.

Centre-back pair William Gallas and Jan Vertonghen both miss out, despite keeping a clean sheet in the win at Aston Villa on Saturday.

In come Steven Caulker and Michael Dawson to form a back four with Kyle Walker and Kyle Naughton at the Stadium of Light.

Vertonghen drops to the bench while Gallas misses out altogether.

Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill has made just one change to his team, swapping the ineligible Danny Rose for John O'Shea.
