Manchester City forward Emmanuel Adebayor is said to be threatening to see out the remaining two years of his contract at the Etihad Stadium unless Tottenham Hotspur significantly improve their offer for his services.
The two clubs have reportedly agreed a fee in the region of £7m for the 28-year-old, who is currently receiving a weekly wage of £175,000.
Spurs have asked Adebayor to take a £3m-per-year pay cut to move to White Hart Lane but the player would rather stay at City and play for the club's reserves than agree to such a deal, according to The Sun.
Adebayor scored 18 goals in 37 appearances while on loan at Tottenham last season.
