Carlo Cudicini insists that he is "happy" at Tottenham Hotspur despite a lack of first-team opportunities.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini has insisted that he is "happy" at White Hart Lane and is eager to extend his stay with the North London club.

The 38-year-old has said that he would prefer to compete in more games for Harry Redknapp after losing his spot to American shot-stopper Brad Friedel.

"My contract is running out at the end of the season," said Cudicini. "At 38, year by year, you try to deserve a new contract so that's what I'm trying to do.

"I still have the motivation to try to get into the first team. If you don't have that at 38 it's better for you to play golf every day instead. You need to have that motivation.

"I am happy here. Of course everyone would like to play more games but I can be happy, I have everything."

The Italian, who penned a one-year contract extension in the summer, is expected to start for Spurs for their Europa League match against PAOK Salonika tonight.
